Yippee Spring is finally here and it got me thinking about seasonal fitness, in the winter we are keen to stay indoors and things like running with a head torch can be enjoyed without having to wait until past my bedtime. What do you think about the idea of Spring fitness? Do you change up your routine with the seasons? I know in the winter that sometimes the temptation to stay inside and do a YouTube workout wins. I love to get outside all year round, but I’ve been trying some new fitness classes for Spring in my ongoing determination to say goodbye to the gym and here’s what I’ve been enjoying this Spring time.
Spring also brings us earlier mornings which make getting up for that 6:30 or 7am class so much easier
St Mary’s Axe Full Body with Mila. where to start with this one, I hated the class. I hated the vibe, the equipment. The studio on the other hand was awesome, gorgeous changing rooms and anything you could possibly need at your finger tips.
I liked the studio so much that I gave it another go, this time I tried the Lower Body workout with Melissa (an instructor I’ve had before and I like) and it was sooooo much better, great workout, great experience and I really enjoyed it.
Lululemon Covent Garden Yoga.
I headed into Covent Garden on a sunny Sunday morning for one of Lululemon’s free yoga classes, I’ve only been to the Richmond showroom or Wholefoods but this class was enormous. There must have been about 50 mats and one instructor. Luckily I got a spot right by the instructor and still managed to find my zen. I loved being able to come out as the shops in Covent Garden opened and grab a coffee with David before enjoying the shops before it got too busy.
I joined the beautiful Leah for her favourite full body circuits class, very similar to 1Rebel. But in a much less shiny studio, this felt much more like a gym which I liked. The class size was much smaller than 1rebel and the instructor was good. If you want slick, shiny changing rooms go to 1rebel but if you want the same workout a bit cheaper go to Project Fit!
Have you been hibernating inside/in the gym this winter? How will you mix it up for spring fitness?
