3 Ingredient Breakfast Protein Smoothie

I like the idea of a smoothie for breakfast, but I don’t know about you, I don’t have time to be faffing around. I either have time for a proper breakfast or I want a grab and go smoothie. There are some great recipes out there in the blogosphere, including one of mine. Most of them are just too much bother for me, with long lists of ingredients many of which seem to only come in kg bags. I’m too risk adverse to commit to a kg of something I’ve never tasted.

Easy Breakfast Protein Smoothie

This breakfast protein smoothie is super easy, has only 3 ingredients and you don’t need to buy any protein powder or scary ingredients. All you need is a banana, milk and a protein bar. I used a Battle Oats Cranberry and Blueberry bar as its packed with 15g of protein, but feel free to use your favourite. This Battle Oats bar worked really well as it added fruity flavours to the smoothie too without any additional ingredients.

  • 200ml Milk
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Battle Oats Bar (or your favourite protein bar)


  1. Put all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blitz until smooth

I popped mine in a thermos and drank on my way into work, it kept me full until lunch!

    My favourite usually consists of frozen fruit, banana, almond milk and nut butter! Sometimes with added spinach if I’m feeling like I should…
